Grieg Trio at the Vogler Spring Festival.

Grieg Trio performs three concerts at the Vogler Spring Festival this weekend.


Grieg Trio was establised in 1987 and consists of Vebjørn Anvik, piano, Sølve Sigerland, violin and Ellen Margrete Flesjø, cello.

They studied with Professor Andras Mihaly at the Liszt Academy in Budapest and have performed at major venues across the world, including US, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Japan and Germany. The trio was chosen by the Lillehammer Olympic Committee to promote Norwegian music culture prior to the 1994 Winter Olympic Games.

Amongst their many awards are the Grieg Prize in 1997 and the Norwegian Grammy Award (Spellemannsprisen) in 2004.

As of 2004 the Grieg Trio has taken over the artistic direction of the Stavanger Chamber Music Festival.

Saturday 2nd May @ 7.30pm - Johannes Brahms; Piano Trio in C, Op. 87
Sunday 3rd May @ 2pm, with Andra Darzins (viola) - Gabriel Fauré; Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 15
