Vafler (Norwegian Waffles)
Last updated: 08.01.2016 // Norwegian waffles are large, soft and fluffy and fit pefectly folded in your hand. The toppings are simple but delicious: slices of Norwegian brown cheese, a spread of sour cream and jam or just a sprinkling of sugar.
Ingredients
4 dl plain flour
4 dl milk
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of ground cardamom
5 table spoons of sugar
5 eggs
100 grams of melted butter
Instructions
Make a smooth batter with the flour, baking powder, sugar and milk. Beat in the eggs and butter and cardamom. Let the batter set for 30 minutes before cooking in a waffle iron. Serve with jam, sour cream, sugar, butter and/or Norwegian brown cheese. Enjoy!
